Do you own an RV or trailer and are considering selling the home and living on the road?  There are many opportunities out there for you to join if you still want to be part of a community of friends as you travel.  Here is a breakdown of a couple parks that provide an RVer lifestyle.

Thousand Trails has over 80 RV parks nationwide and was established in 1969. Thousand Trailsis America's premier provider of membership campgroundsand RV parks with resort style amenities. They focus on activities during your stay that you can enjoy. My parents were part of this club for 30 years and they made many friends. They enjoyed providing tours for their fellow visiting RV neighbors into Los Angeles to the different attractions while they were staying at their “Home Park” in Acton, California. Volunteering this way allowed them a longer stay in the park. www.thousandtrails.com

EscapeesRVClubis one of the oldest, largest and most loved RV membership organizations in the world. They provide a total support network for all RVers, regardless of their travel style, type of RV, or experience level. Escapees are united by their shared love of travel and exploration. This is a club that has many different groups with which to become involved. They have a club called the Xscapers for the modern-day nomads if you are still working or raising a family. The Escapees Hangouts provides more casual opportunities for all members to make new friends and share fun, active and adventurous experiences together in a campground setting. Hangouts include a lightly structured schedule with organized activities throughout the day as well as plenty of opportunities for socializing and spontaneous events. There are included excursions like hiking, kayaking, bicycling, breweries and wineries, foodie tours, local festivals and more. www.escapees.com/community/hangouts/

Birds of a Feather Group share lifestyle interests such as boon docking, working on the road, disaster relief, biking and hiking, amateur radio, pet lovers and off-roading, just to name a few! Expand your talents and share your knowledge. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, you are welcome to join. www.escapees.com/community/birds-of-a-feather-bofs/

Escapees CARE Centeris a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (tax-exempt) corporation formed in 1992 and is under the guidance of a volunteer board of directors. CARE answers the question, "What happens to full-time RVers when they cannot take care of their own or their spouse's needs following an illness, injury, surgery, or the progression of a long-term illness. Located in Livingston, Texas, they provide a place to park your RV on a concrete pad and take advantage of numerous amenities. Residents receive three daily meals and a snack, housekeeping and laundry services, assistance with dumping holding tanks and switching propane tanks, transport to local healthcare providers, weekly shopping trips, and access to adult day care services, including Alzheimer’s patients. Social opportunities, outings, and special events are also offered. https://escapeescare.org/

Some other RV clubs and campgrounds to research are Good Sam Club, Passport America, Boondockers Welcome, Harvest Hosts, KOA Value Kard Rewards, Happy Camper Half Price Camping Club, Explorer RV Club, FMCA (Family Motorcoach Association) and Overnight RV Parking.
